For something so simple, screenplays seem awfully tough for word processors to handle. Sure, you can go out and spend a couple or a few hundred dollars on a specialized screenplay-formatting program, but do you really want to do that if you already have a full-featured word processor like Microsoft Word? Do you need to?

Script Genie extends the capabilities of Microsoft Word to allow you to easily manage writing your screenplays, complete with automatic formatting of scene headers, dialogue, and other script elements. It enables you to create lists of character and location names for quick reference and one-click entry, as well as allowing you to easily rearrange the order of scenes and generate numbered scenes for shooting scripts. Q: I purchased the full version of Script Genie and received my registration information by email. Now how do I enter my user name and registration key?

A: When you first start Script Genie or attempt to save a new Script Genie script, the program will prompt you to enter your registration information to fully activate Script Genie's complete functionality.

Q: When I try to use Script Genie, I get a message from Word about macros being unable to run.

A: Script Genie uses Word's macro functionality for integration between the two. On Windows, Tools > Macro > Security will allow you to set Word's macro security to Medium, enabling you to selectively run macros with trusted programs such as Script Genie. (We do not recommend setting macro security to Low.) On Macintosh, you can change macro security under Preferences > Security.

Q: I bought a previous version of Script Genie. Does it cost to upgrade to the latest version?

A: Script Genie upgrades to the current version are free for all Script Genie users!
